Mountain Madman

For (e)cycling enthusiasts, Christophe is the perfect guide for on- or off-roadadventures, including tastings along the way and scenic routes around Mont Ventoux.
His passion for wine is matched only by his passion for cycling:

Christophe Bristiel is
a rare cyclist. No Strava, not even a GPS; he still uses Michelin maps to find his way. A throwback and a romantic, Bristiel lives at the foot of Mont Ventoux. He has climbed the Giant of Provence more times than you can imagine, but he’s never competed in a bike race. He is, as we riders well understand, in love with the bicycle and one particular mountain.”

Christophe conquered mythical Mont Ventoux 100 times in 2022 alone, raising $25,000 for a children charity. And his “hardest challenge involved a fairly bonkers idea. Bristiel and a friend cycled from Marseille and back, including a Ventoux summit on a Vélib, an urban bike-share bicycles—the equivalent of New York Citi Bikes. 300 kilometers on a 28 kilogram [62 pound], three-gear bike, done in 21 hours.”

But do not imagine that Christophe does not venture out of the shadow of Mont Ventoux!
In the Spring of 2025, Christophe completed his very own version of the Tour de France, combining his two passions: 28 days, 3,200km across all the major wine regions of France - alone and in autonomy – from Languedoc to Bordeaux, Cognac, the Loire Valley from Nantes to Sancerre, Champagne, Alsace, Burgundy, Beaujolais to the Rhône Valley North and South.
Need we add Christophe has tackled every major climbs in the Alps and the Pyrenees (and even the Andes!) at one point or another?

“Christophe has been a trusted partner for BB&R for close to 20 years and has developed close relationships and trust across our teams in the UK and Asia. I had the pleasure of getting to know him during a charity cycle ride from London to Champagne where he was one of the most experienced participants. He stood out through his support and motivation of the other cyclists who were less able than him, and of course through his great sense of fun.”
